Project Overview: #wearable device #fabrication #human behavior
The project culminates in the seamless fabrication of a prototype that affixes to the body's surface, offering remarkable adaptability applicable not only to its original context but also to diverse sports and athletic settings.
The Brief:
In partnership with Pratt Institute, Redbull, and GoPro, our task entails creating a durable, secure, and user-friendly climbing-specific mount that captures the captivating visuals of rock climbing.
Sasha DiGiulian is a world-champion rock climber specializing in sport climbing and bouldering.

Drawing inspiration from existing GoPro products, our team conducted extensive hands-on experiments at an indoor climbing gym.
Testing the limitations of existing GoPro equipment: Showed a limited range of visual angles and heaviness.

The ideation phase generated many ideas, resulting in a diverse array of potential prototypes and structures. This diversity facilitated thorough material exploration and enabled robust testing of systems essential for constructing the functional aspects of our prototype.

The journey towards our optimal proposal solution to the client involved extensive exploration, encompassing both on-body and "off-body" prototype concepts, as we strived to arrive at the most effective outcome.
